We're baaaaack!

The town of Kanab can heave out a huge collective sigh of relief, because Alexis and Kelly are back home!!! Wooo hooo!

Sooooo many people missed us sooooo much. The signs and balloons moved me to tears. I was completely over whelmed at the sight of the parade. Really though, I have to say that the fire works display in honor of our return was a bit over the top.

I would have taken pictures of it, but everyone insisted that I not lift even the slightest finger.

Yeah, sure. Sure. Ha ha

It WAS a super perfect trip though. Kelly and Sammy played, and played and cried and played the whole time. They really played some silly games I tell you. Games like - "chase me I am a 3 year old", or "why won't Kelly wake up yet?" Good times.

We took them to Kung-fu panda one afternoon.

I LOVED that movie!

Almost laughed popcorn out of my nose I loved it so much. Jack Black is my favorite actor, so that helps. If anyone says that they didn't like it then I would just kung-fu chop them in the biscuit head for sure!

I tried to help out the Jesser as much as I could. Moving is weird people. There was alot of discussion about what should be packed when. Also we liked to talk about what should go in what. My brain felt fried! It WAS 106 degrees outside too, that probably didn't speed things along to well.

Ah Henderson, I'm not sorry I left ya.... you sweltering-hot-torture-chamber you.

We took Kel Kel to get her hair cut! I didn't do such a great job when I cut it a couple of weeks ago. It looked waaaaay crooked and made me cringe when I saw how badly I did. Really, I was curling it under with a curling iron to hide my bad hair job, but inside my own thoughts I could remember and it was uncool.

She was a good little munchkin and sat perfectly still while the hair lady cut her hair. I was a hair freak and had her cut it even shorter when she thought that she was done.

I cracked that Super cuts whip and made her do it how I asked.

Lower chin is NOT mid-neck lady. Come on!

Ok - I was nice, but I wanted to be crusty about it.

Taking their picture might have been creepy, but I really could not have cared less. Those are my precious baby's moments and I am going to document the heck out of them I tell you.

Kell's hair turned out cute I think. She loves the length. She can now brush her own hair now by her SELF....so, that helps alot with the whole big girl thing that we are working on here at Casa de Cooper.

Honestly, she is constantly reminding me of Ramona Quimby now with the new do. That is not a bad thing at all. The Ramona books were my favorite when I was growing up. She was so funny and crazy. Kelly is kind of like that come to think of it. It was fate I tell you

I better go see what my little girl is up too. Have a nice evening!

Off to Henderson!!!

Deej is going to take Kelly and I to Henderson today! Yea!!!

We are going to go and hang out with Jess and Sammy. Ivy is going to be in Colorado visiting some family and Sam is going to be fishing in the ocean in California. It will be a great time for Kelly to get to spend time with just Sammy. She has a hard time sharing Ivy with anyone, even Ivy's own little sister. Kelly and Sammy play so good together and they are funny little gals. It is going to be so, so fun!

D.J. has to come back either tomorrow or Monday depending on his work schedule. Boo! I wish that he could stay and play the whole time. Double boo. But a man's got to do what a man's got to do. Right?

Jess and Sam just sold their house in Henderson. Awesome news. Sheesh, selling a house in this market is a serious pain in the booty. That house is great though. I am jealous of the new owners though. It is so comfy and they have done so much work on it too. Like this
  • roof
  • appliances
  • kitchen paint
  • cupboards
  • outside paint
  • all rooms painted
  • carpet
  • tile
  • bathrooms
Man, It is like a new house. It will be missed.

So, Jesser is going to have little baby Gavin in a few short months, I am totally excited about that. Moving when you are pregnant is no fun. I think that Jess is so good at things that she just decided to make her pregnancy extra interesting and threw the move in there for a challenge. She operates at 120% yo!

She has also helped us move three times, so I really owe her big time. It will be sweet though.

Newsflash!!!!!!

DJ and I will be married for seven years tomorrow!!!!!

Crazy amazing huh?

I love him so, so much and I still get butterflies when I see him from across the room. Weird huh? It is true.

Yes, this picture is old.

Yes, I know it does not look like me now.

I am fine with that.

It IS my anniversary, and posting this old picture of us is my present to myself.

HA!

It is also my sister Shannon's wedding anniversary tomorrow! Brandon and Shannon were married a year after Deej and I were. What can I say? I am just really good at picking days to get married.

Happy anniversary guys! We love you.

Sunny days

All is well here at casa de Cooper. Kelly Jess is excited to go outside and take care of Grandpa's garden. We got her a bucket and promptly named it "Kelly's bucket...(expert farmer)" This is what is in side of it in case you are curious...

  • shovel
  • spade
  • another shovel, only smaller
  • small rake
  • some sunscreen
  • a gardening hat
  • the color change mermaid barbie
  • gloves
  • a squirt gun
It is certainly the most perfect gardening bucket in history. (if I do say so my self)

Kelly has also been going to the Kanab city park with her cousins.

She went the other day with her baby cousin Sadie and discovered the water feature that was recently turned on. It is full of fun times I tell you.

Then, she spent the day with Jesse, Wyatt and Charlee at Gramma's house. We spent the day playing with sweet dog Rascal and her pool with added fun from the crazy water flower. Then, we took them to the city park to play in the water sprinkler together. It was fun and I really enjoyed watching Kelly play and meet new friends. She loves walking up to new people and introducing herself. She usually says "Hi, I am Kelly Cooper and I am five years old. What is your name?"

Cute stuff.

Here Kelly is relaxing and enjoying the sun. Charlee, Jesee and Wyatt are there to keep her company. They are too funny together.

Something that they love to do is make up new songs. Kel is usually the singer with Charlee and Wyatt plays the air guitar...then Jesee plays the air drums. My favorite band for sure.

One last thing is that Kelly and Jesee LOVE is to "rescue" bugs. They find them, then capture them, and finally they talk about them and try to put them in a cooler or a box to keep them forever. That does not work so well most of the time. Here they are putting them in a "home".

When I was little I hated bugs. I even went so far as to frighten my baby sister Shannon into night terrors by telling her that a little worm on the deck was deadly poisonous and she would die if she even touched it. I really meant no serious harm...but she HATED even the slightest little bug, and I was forever punished for making it so. Sorry Shannon. you know I love you!

Red letter day today!!!!

Happy 40th Anniversary Mama and Papa Cooper!!

Oh my gosh, words can not explain how much we all love and admire these two. I have been fortunate to be able to spend time with them and too see how strong and beautiful their love is first hand. They are sweet and funny to each other. I love to hear stories about how they met and how the years have been to them. They are a great example to everyone that love is true, love is real, and love can last forever.

Now I am all full of emotion....I am going to go call D.J and tell him that I love him. :)

Hooooray!

Happy birthday Nicole!!!

The awesome seesta #1 is celebrating her birthday today.

Here is what I hope happens for her today....

  • She awakes to sounds of Julie Andrews singing her happy birthday.
  • A delicious breakfast of fluffy pancakes and fruit is made for her by Rachel Ray.
  • She is flown to New York in a private jet to do some shopping.
  • Then, she has lunch at Tavern on the Green with all of her favorite people.
  • The Red Door spa will then cater to her every whim. She shall leave refreshed.
  • Off to a private showing of her favorite Broadway musical. Hmm, I wonder what she will choose?
  • Just in time to be whisked off to a candle light dinner with her sweet hubby Matt. Very romantic and I would reveal the location, but then what secrets would there be for her?
I hope that your day is just that special. (with cool kids like Zack and Dylan and a rad husband like Matt I am sure that it will be just as special)
Love you Nicole!

I am sooooo excited!!!

I can finally post on here that my beautiful younger sister Shannon and her super rad hubby Brandon are going to have a baby!!!!

Whooot whooot!

Shannon and Brandon have been together since the beginning of time... well it just feels like that . I think that Shannon was a sophomore when they got together, but I am not 100% on that age, it could be earlier than that. They were married on June 8th 2002.

Why am I such an expert on her wedding anniversary?

It is exactly one year after DJ and I were married.

Totally sweet, I know.

Ok...so we have been giving her a hard time about when they were going to have a baby. Lately we have stopped a little because it can wear on a sweet spirit that is Shannon.

So, when she told us that she was pregnant I almost did not believe her and told her to not joke around. Then I promptly freaked out with happiness and have been super excited ever since.

That was a week ago and now I'm still is crazy excited.

The new sweetie is going to be here in either December or January.

There are a TON of January birthday's in our family, so that is cool. Way to keep up on the family tradition Shannon!

I am sooo looking forward to:
  • buying soft, soft blankets
  • rocking a new baby to sleep
  • throwing a baby shower
  • cleaning up spit up...it is cute man
  • seeing them as parents
  • helping out any way that I can
Mega coolness

Did I tell you that Kelly is a farmer?

I didn't?

Well, she is. At least, that is what she tells me.

She loves to go out and plant with her Papa Coop. They planted onions a few weeks back. Red and yellow. They planted some tomato plants as well. Then Mommy left them out in the wind, and now they are dead...it is a looong story, and it makes me sad. Oh, the little voice in your head that tells you to bring in a plant... I really need to start listening to that.

Today Papa Coop planted water melons, cucumbers, pickling cucumbers, more onions and some snap dragons. It was a beautiful day.

Kelly enjoys planting and being one with the earth. She loves to water the plants.

Let me tell you a story about watering the garden with her the other day.

I made the first mistake of the day by waking Kelly up to early. It was 8am.

Boo hoo.

She needs to work on waking up earlier because a certain little someone has morning kindergarden in the fall and it will be really bad if she does not work on her morning skills.

We are working on that pronto!!

Being a gardener is going to be key. See, she loves to water on irrigation day.

But then the wind started to blow and Mommies next mistake came into play.

I put a new outfit on her on irrigation day. A windy irrigation day.

So, then my pretty little princess too nervous and angry to be the happy little farmer that we all know that she is.

(Cue evil music)

The bad, bad wind blew the sweet, sweet H2O on to Kelly's new outfit.

And, action Kelly.... she now feels like crying and whining about small specks of red dirt on her new pants.

Oh the horror!

Is there anyone out there with the sense and understanding to help this situation?

Anyone?

(Cue super hero music)

Yes!

Mommy is here with her super green hair dryer and the super hero strength to out wit a sobbing 5 year old.

No autographs please.

Dang I look good in tights.

(ha ha HA HA!! that was a good one)

All is right with the world...until I, Super Mommy have to drain out the fish tank in Kelly's room tomorrow. I might have to take a major hit of fish water in my mouth when I siphon out the tank, but it is a small price to pay for JUSTICE!

Cool fish tank right?

Aunt Shannon gave this to Kelly. It has a rad plant in it to help keep it clean and he looooooves it. It looks cool to.

Wanna guess what she named her fish?

Rex! I adore it.

I shall leave you with a completely too cute picture of my niece Sadie.

She is the most precious little girl. I love that she is rocking the yellow headband. It is so "spring" and it makes me smile.

Until next time.

Same bat time.

Same bat channel.

A very good day

Today we went to Mia's 3rd birthday party!

It was a lot of fun. Kelly and Mia played great together. There was a TON of fun, multi-colored balloons. Doug grilled up some tasty grub. Deej and I got to hang out and listen to people other than Kelly. Just what the doctor ordered, I tell you.

Mia looked like she had a fun time. They blew bubbles, caught butterflies, and ate yummy cake.

What more can you ask for when you are three?

Here is a sweet picture of Kelly and Mia catching those butterflies.

They are so smart, that after a while they just stood by where the butterflies were going to come out. Then they waited there and caught them all.

You load up the butterflies, and then they shoot out of the elephant nose. The crummy thing about this game is that it takes all of 2 seconds for them to fly out...then it is butterfly loading time again and it is a teensie weensie bit annoying.

No, I am just old and easily annoyed. Whaaaa baby.

My littlest sister Shannon, (here is her blog...brandonshannon.blogspot.com go and read her....she is soooooo funny) challenged me to post my 6 word memoir. How interesting and at the same time off-putting. Who can really think of what a good 6 word memoir could possibly be?

Well I certainly can.

Because I rule.

Ok, here it goes.

Alexis Cooper's 6 word memoir for May 3rd 2008. (It really could change tomorrow)

Always willing and eager to help.

Ha Ha! Take that!

I leave you this fine evening with two thoughts.

One... Kelly wants to either be a secret agent, or a police officer. (see picture above, she has a badge, a gun and a cell phone in her pockets)

Two... Savy won the stinkiest feet contest on the bus ride home from the BYU track meet yesterday.

Rad.

Ha ha

Take this test!
So you might not be a psychiatrist...and you most definitely haven't switched bodies with your kids (right?), but when it comes to parenting, you've got a lot in common with hardworking Tess Coleman. You're passionate and driven about your family and your career, and you do everything in your power to make sure that your family has it all.

Even when you're juggling a million responsibilities, you take most things you do very seriously. But you can certainly find that kid inside and cut loose when you need to. You just have to remind yourself every once in a while that doing cartwheels in the backyard can be just as educational as homework. Give it a whirl!

It's Fri-ness-day!

Well, to mere mortals it is Friday. To me it is Fri-ness-day. It is kind of a play on Wed-ness-day.... but I do go on.

Here is a sweet unassuming picture of Wyatt, Jesee and Kelly. They are being their cute little selves, eating suckers and making me smile.

There is something that I must admit.

I like to spy on them when they play.

Is that weird?

Yes, it really sounds weird.

It is just that when I am obviously watching them, they act all good and sweet. They are just little 5 year olds with nothing crazy planned at all. Then, when I am not around they turn into diabolical super children.

They plan adventures, develop complicated potions, and dare each other to do amazing things.

Just the other day I am pretty sure that they were playing a pretend game of Alvin and the Chipmunks....only I swear that they were speaking in primitive Mandarin Chinese. It was odd to say the least.

Here the little munchkins are when they were just wee ones. That is Jesee, Kelly then Wyatt. It still looks like them, only with less hair. It could be just my imagination but I swear it seemed like they were communicating with their minds when we took this picture. The idea was silly back then, but now I can see it being a reality. Those clever little people.
I love 'em!
